Baked Macaroni & Cheese Recipe

Prep Time: 20 minutes 
Cook Time: 15-25 minutes
Servings: 8 - 10

INGREDIENTS

1 lb. Elbow Noodles
5 tbsp. Butter
1.5 tbsp Minced Garlic
2.5 tbsp Flour
3.5 cups Half & Half
0.5 cup Heavy Cream
8 oz Colby Jack (divided)
12 oz Mild Cheddar (divided)
4 oz Sharp Cheddar
8 oz White Cheddar
6 oz Mozzarella
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Onion Powder
1/2 tsp Paprika
Salt and Pepper to Taste

    Bake at 425°F for 15-20 minutes
    Broil for 5 Minutes

    DIRECTIONS

    1. Boil your elbow noodles following the instructions on the packaging.
    2. Preheat the oven to 425ºF and grease a 9x13 baking dish. Set aside
    3. Once your noodles are cooked, drain them and place in your baking dish and add 3 tbsp of butter and mix in until melted. Set aside
    4. In a saucepan, melt the remaining 2 tbsp of butter. Once melted add minced garlic and cook for 1 - 2 minutes or until fragrant.
    5. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk to create your roux. Cook for about 1 minute
    6. Slowly pour in the half and half while whisking constantly. 
    7. Add in 1/2 cup of heavy cream and whisk. Stir until combined and smooth.
    8. Slowly add in the cheeses, one at a time. Whisk constantly and add small portions at a time. 
    9. Once all the cheeses have melted add in the spices and stir. Add salt & pepper to taste.
    10. Pour the cheese sauce into your baking dish to mix and coat all the noodles in the cheese mixture.
    11. Once all the noodles have been mixed, add the remaining colby jack and mild cheddar cheeses on an even layer on top.
    12. Place in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Then broil for 5 minutes or until the top starts to develop a golden crust.
    13. Serve and enjoy!
